"Chatillion" Watercolour 11" x 15" (SOLD)
Thomas Edward Francis adopted the pseudonym Pierre Le Boueff, finding his French and Belgian townscapes so much easier to sell when signed this way.
His exhibition venues included The Royal Academy in London, The Royal Society of British Artists, The New English Art Club, The Walker Art Gallery Liverpool and Manchester City Art Gallery.
These three subjects Rouen, Chatillion and Meaux are painted in pure watercolour. Thomas Edward Francis was highly accomplished as an architectural artist both in watercolours and oils showing a unique flair for the romantic but carefully drawn images of towns and villages in France and Belgium.
