Albert Bowers lived in Kew. He exhibited paintings between 1875 and 1893. He achieved one picture in The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London, five at The New Watercolour Society, twenty-nine at The Suffolk Street Galleries and two others in exhibition venues not recorded.
This charming landscape lovingly captures a rustic scene with figures in a rutted lane, possibly somewhere in Kent and Sussex, in view of the style of architecture portrayed.
