Giffard Hocart Lenfestey was born in Faversham, Kent on 6th of September 1872. He became a landscape and interiors painter having studied art at The Royal College of Art and under Raphael Collin. He also studied in Paris, Florence, Rome and Venice. He became a member of The Royal Society of British Artists in 1898. His exhibiting years spanned between 1895 and 1938. Records show he lived in London during much of his very successful artistic career, with works exhibited as follows:
